Behind The Build::

Building Beyond the Walls Flagship class
For over 15 years Building Beyond the Walls has trained individuals in the basic skills of construction as we work to build community through service. Students learn valuable construction skills which has inspired many to go into a career of construction. And while all are required to give 50 hours back to the community in exchange for the free training, graduates say they have a new understanding of the value of volunteering and will continue to give back the rest of their lives. This creates a lifelong impact to our communities!
The most recent class participants worked to build a LIHI tiny home homeless shelter structure for Low Income Housing Institute. As you can see, the impact of our construction training is now presenting itself as a compounding resource for the homeless. We are helping to provide temporary housing for those transitioning out of homelessness, our program design helps with mental health and trauma recovery and we provide opportunities for skills training even more in 2024!
Thank you for helping us to empower and build our community!
